Drug: Proven cytostatic Sirolimus drug
Sirolimus has dual mechanism of action. It modulates inflammatory cell function and block smooth muscle cell proliferation. Sirolimus is Cytostatic. It stops proliferation prior to G1checz point returning cells to G0 resting phase (1). In this way, by not billing cells, it prevents vessel damage and allows rapid and complete re-endothelialization within 30 days. It thereby minimizes the potential for thrombosis.

bPolymer: The Metabolism of PLLA

  • The metabolism of poly-L-Lactic acid (PLLA) biodegradable stents. Hydrolysis of PLLA results in the loss of molecular weight and reduction in strength and mass; ultimately the PLLA is metabolized into lactic acid, carbon dioxide (C02) and water (H2O).
  • Bio-absorption curves for a bio-absorbable material: molecular weight is lost first, followed by strength and then mass. Therefore, the stent loses its biomedical Importance long before significant mass loss has occurred.

Drug Polymer Matrix

  • Total Drug content – 81µg*
  • Coating thickness - 2 to 3 µ
  • Formulated into single layers with different composition of drug and polymers
  • Initial burst release of Sirolimus followed by sustained elution up to 50 to 40 days.
  • Biodegradable polymers are completely eliminated.
